Facilities and Equipment

In 2020, the NGMP expanded to a 10,000 sq. ft., AAALAC accredited, state-of-the art facility that includes a 3,500 sq. ft. mouse holding area capable of accommodating up to 50 flexible-film isolators, multiple Allentown individually ventilated cage racks, and a positive-pressure Tecniplast ISOcage P Bioexclusion System (including an ISOcage Biosafety Station and an ISO Decontamination Trolley). The facility also includes an animal procedure room, a workroom for preparing gnotobiotic supplies, and autoclaving and cage washing capabilities. A Bruker Minispec NMR mouse body composition analyzer, a LI-COR Pearl Trilogy, and an anesthetic system are available for live animal monitoring. An in-house laboratory equipped for microbiology and immunology procedures completes our facility and gives us the seamless ability to cultivate bacteria for colonizing mice and evaluating their microbial status.
