 Our first faculty spotlight is Dr. Jennifer Auchtung. 

 

 

 

Dr. Auchtung’s lab uses complementary in vitro and in vivo models to study resistance to colonization with the GI pathogen Clostridioides (Clostridium) difficile across multiple configurations of the human gut microbiome. Ongoing work explores how differences in microbiome composition and host genetic background influence susceptibility to initial infection as well as the ability to respond to treatments that restore microbiome function and disease resistance.
